I asked ChatGPT to help me remove a stuck disc from an Xbox. Before I go into the detailed chat, if you clicked on this post to find out how to remove a stuck disc from an Xbox One S, check out this YouTube video:
However, if you want to see the crazy ride I took with ChatGPT in an attempt to remove the stuck disc, keep reading:
This is what I asked ChatGPT:
How do I remove a stuck disc from Xbox One S?
To keep this post short and to the point, ChatGPT took me all around Robbin’s Barn and never gave me a correct answer.
After much “discussion” back and forth, I gave ChatGPT photos of the Xbox console in the hopes it could give me a better answer, to no avail! Finally, I asked it to provide me with a photo of the Manual Eject Hole that it was trying to steer me to. This is the photo it generated.

After looking at the photo, I told it:
Your written instructions and the photo don’t seem to match up. Could you show a labeled diagram of exactly which hole to use for Model 1681? It’ll make it much easier to find without guesswork.
Another Incorrect Xbox Image
This was the next incorrect image that ChatGPT gave me:

It apologized for the mismatch, but still provided more incorrect information as follows:
Got it—my bad on the mismatch earlier. I’ve added a clear, labeled diagram showing the exact spot for Model 1681. Use a straightened paperclip and target the side vent: second hole from the front edge, second row up from the bottom (as shown).

By this time, I had had enough. ChatGPT is useful for many things, but not everything. At this time, it was not helpful in instructing me on how to remove the disc. So, I went to YouTube instead and found the video I listed above.
Bottom Line: If you need to remove a stuck disc from your Xbox One S, skip the AI instructions. It’s best to go straight to YouTube for accurate info.
