You are here: Home » Movie Box Red Replaces Terrarium

Terrarium isn’t dead. It’s just going by a different name. The new name is Movie Box Red. The app’s name and icon may be different, but that’s where the differences end. It operates the exact same way as the old Terrarium operated. If you’re a die-hard Terrarium fan, you’ll be very happy with Movie Box Red.Movie Box Red

Uninstalling Terrarium – Installing Movie Box Red

When Terrarmium stopped working for me, I uninstalled it from my various devices figuring that was the end of a good ride. Fortunately, I came across New Tech Revolution’s YouTube video. In his video, he explains that other developers worked on the Terrarium .apk and now it’s up and running again. He gives instructions on how to install Movie Box Red. I followed his simple instructions and voila! I’m back in business.

Here’s his video:

Just remember, always run a VPN when using Movie Box Red. My VPN of choice is IPVanish.

Terrarium’s Competition – Cinema Free

Cinema Free is another .apk that I first heard about by watching New Tech Revolution. Honestly, I don’t know how he finds the time to put out so many videos. I guess it’s easy if you’re passionate about the subject matter.

Anyway, I watched his video about Cinema Free. He kept talking about how fast it was, so I had to give it a go. I wanted to see if it really was faster than Movie Box Red. Installing Cinema Free was just as easy as installing Movie Box Red. The link to his installation video is below:

My Initial Take on Cinema Free

I’ve only just downloaded both of them. At first, I was thrilled to have Movie Box Red because it was the second coming of Terrarium in my opinion. However, after installing Cinema Free, I think I like Cinema Free better.Cinema Free - Better than Terrarium?

Cinema Free is much faster than Movie Box Red. It not only accesses the various movie/tv streams faster but when I click “Play,” Cinema seems to start the movie faster. I barely get the loading circle that I had become so familiar with when I used Terrarium. Granted, I’ve only been using Cinema Free for one day, but I’ve been known to uninstall apps after one day because I didn’t like them. I think Cinema Free is a keeper.

Give It a Shot

If you like sticking with something you’re already familiar with, then Movie Box Red is for you. However, if you’re into a little experimenting, I’d suggest trying Cinema Free. If you don’t like it you can always uninstall it.

December 2, 2018 Update: I remain a huge fan of Cinema Free. Although I still have Movie Box Red installed on my Fire Stick, I rarely use it. Cinema Free is my go-to app.

I have tried both of these and except for a few blips with New HD releases they work great. Try to get a look at Cyberflix too. Almost identical to Terrarium. There is a group on Facebook dedicated to it. In order to get access to the Filelinked code you have to join the group.

      Hey Naomi,

Thanks for the tip on Cyberflix. I’ll look into it.
I’m amazed at how many Terrarium alternatives there are.
