I created this site because I seem to be stuck in a time warp. Technology is speeding right along and I’m moving at a snail’s pace. The technological things I find interesting where all the rage several years ago. Like I said, I’m moving at a snail’s pace.
This blog is where I get to write about the technological advances of yesterday (yesterday is the equivalent of a year in techno time). As I go through and discover things I write about them. I’ve got to believe that I’m not the only person in the world who is a bit behind the times.
I’m okay with being behind the times. I no longer feel the need to have the greatest, fastest and most technologically advanced gadget. Honestly speaking, I never felt the need to have the latest and greatest gadget. I tend to purchase what works for me.
As I make my way through the technological quagmire, I like to write about my all too late discoveries in the attempt to help other time-warped snails like me. If I happen to write about something that’s cutting edge, believe me, it’s a fluke.
A Bit of History
Many years ago when my children were young, I created a site called Tidbits and Stuff. On that site I wrote about various tidbits. I shared recipes for making homemade laundry detergent and created crossword puzzles to help little ones with their vocabulary. I also wrote about things like insurance, technology and how to recover a lawn after Fido has had his way with it.
My kids have since grown up and so have my interests. I still use the homemade laundry detergent when washing my clothes, but my laundry batches are smaller and less challenging (no more soiled football or cheerleading uniforms). I have a bit more time to explore other interests (when I’m not being a grandma to the most beautiful grandchild in the world). To that end, I’m able to spend a little more time learning and writing about some of the not so latest technology.
The older posts were originally written on my Tidbits and Stuff blog. I’ve transferred them here to keep all of my technological reviews (rants) in one place.
This blog is a ‘my perspective’ type of blog. It’s about how I use, view and review technology. Whether we like it or not, we all use technology. Sometimes its nice to have a different perspective of how these things affect our lives. Think of this blog as one grandma’s perspective (I’m no guru, just a grandma).
Comments are welcome. Since this isn’t my first blog, I do know that spam and rude comments seem to be the Internet norm. Not so on this blog. I consider this blog an extension of my home. If you stop by for a visit, please mind your manners.
Having said all that, Welcome to Low Tech Grandma.com. If you need to contact me, my contact information is as follows:
